Russ Hudson is helping us to understand the origins of the Enneagram and how he see the importance of the Enneagram today
We are talking about human nature when working with the Enneagram
The Enneagram is according to Russ an invitation to look at a deeper level of our humanity, and what drives our behavior, emotions, and thoughts. We are looking at some part of our identity, that can be described by patterns of our actions, feelings, and ideas, and at the same time, we are also looking behind those patterns to explore what they are actually covering up.
Russ is talking about the intelligence of the three centers, and how they have to be matured and balanced individually and all together. The goal (if the is such) with the Enneagram is both to unite the centers of intelligence and also to understand the intuition these centers can bring us. Each of the nine types in the Enneagram is expressed in one of the centers (even if we naturally have all three centers available) and you can listen to all nine types when Russ is introducing the in this podcast.
